What is a StealthX key?
A StealthX key is your account. It's a short code like SXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX that you generate on the Account page and use to log in to the app. There's no email, password or profile attached to it.
How do I add time to my account?
On the Account page, choose Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana or Monero under Add time with crypto, and send the exact amount shown to the address. Your payment is detected automatically and time is added once it's confirmed — there's nothing to submit. A new key starts with no time, so you'll need to pay before you can connect.
What happens if I lose my key?
Your key can't be recovered, so save it somewhere safe when you create it. Anyone with your key can use your account, so keep it private.
Why do I need to run the installer as administrator?
StealthX installs a background service and virtual network drivers so it can create the tunnel and enforce the kill switch. Windows only allows that with administrator rights.
What happens if my VPN connection drops?
The built-in kill switch blocks traffic while StealthX reconnects, so nothing leaks outside the tunnel. With Lockdown mode on, the internet stays blocked whenever you're not connected, even after quitting the app.
Can I use StealthX on networks that block VPNs?
Often, yes. In the app's VPN settings → Anti-censorship, you can pick obfuscation methods such as UDP-over-TCP, Shadowsocks or QUIC, or leave it on Automatic.

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and Linux (Debian and Ubuntu). See the Download page for installers and requirements.
Is StealthX open source?
Yes. The StealthX app is based on the open-source Mullvad VPN app and is distributed under the GNU GPLv3 license.
